...and then the dispossessed were drawn west
i found a beautiful hilltop that reminded me of The Grapes of Wrath. of a devastated economy and a desperate people and an unrelenting landscape, promising nothing over and over. i fell in love with it a little, and like everything i fall in love with, i wanted to shoot it.

i got an ass-kicking crew together on a wednesday afternoon and we hiked to the top. we encountered ticks, rattlesnakes, beheaded bunnies and a swarm of bees, but the endless talent and charm of my subjects won out.
